HOVE HORNETS RUNNING CLUB

We're a friendly, inclusive running club for all abilities, from beginners to marathoners. Join us for fun and supportive group runs, whether you're just starting out or aiming for a personal best. GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Membership: £30 per year (membership runs from Nov-Oct)

Our club manages its activities through the Coacha app, which is available on both iOS and Android platforms. Completing the sign-up form will allow you to join our club and access all the features and benefits offered through Coacha. 

WHEN DO WE MEET

​

Saturday - ParkRun

Join the Hornets at the local ParkRuns, primarily at Hove Park every Saturday. You'll find a large group of us gathering around 8:40 am by the climbing rock.

 

Participating in ParkRuns is a fantastic way to engage with the running and Hornet community and stay active. We welcome everyone to join us for this enjoyable event! You can find out all the information on ParkRun and register by visiting their website www.parkrun.org.uk

Sunday - Long Run

Every Sunday, we gather for a training run, with two groups setting off at different times. The early group typically covers longer distances, while the later group runs approximately 10K.

​

Our marathon training runs start from the end of November and continue until April, aligning with key events such as the Brighton Half Marathon, as well as the Brighton and London Marathons.

​

Please note that WSFRL races are generally held on Sundays, which means there will be no training session on those days. However, we encourage all members to participate in these races as they provide valuable opportunities for competition and community engagement.

 

Our regular training sessions will continue as usual on non-race Sundays, offering a chance to prepare and improve for upcoming events. These training sessions offer a great opportunity to improve your fitness and prepare for upcoming races. Whether you're training for a specific race or simply enjoy running, we welcome you to join us regardless of ability!

Wednesday - Tempo Sessions

Every wed 6pm and 7pm Matt organises a tempo running session. The meeting place is corals greyhound car park, sessions could be in the park/snakey hill or various other locations locally. These sessions are 60mins and are run independently by Matt. They are a SEPARATE cost of £45 for 6 weeks, sessions can be carried over due to illness or if you give Matt notice in advanced.
